T.ESS GmbH, based near Munich, has stood for the development and distribution of innovative, highly functional sports underwear and socks for many years. Based on his many years of experience, Thomas Essers has decided to create concepts and develop products for selected customers. The products developed by T.ESS GmbH are characterized by a unique philosophy that follows the current zeitgeist: honest, clearly positioned and understandable collections with all the technical product features.
With this in mind, Thomas Essers and his team developed Fire.Shelter 11612, a collection of flame-retardant Seamless underwear, and Fire.Shelter Lite, also Seamless-based, highly functional protective workwear. The company works with the latest technologies and continuously develops products. Fire.Shelter products meet the high criteria of international standards and certifications and fulfill the quality requirements of professionals who expect high comfort and reliable function under their fireproof and protective workwear for a reasonable price. Through its own productions in Europe, T.ESS achieves this.
the founder
Thomas Essers (born 01.04.1953) worked at W.L. Gore (Gore Tex) from 1988-1992, where he acquired crucial skills in functional textiles. Functional underwear and functional socks were still in their infancy at the time. At that time, he worked with leading manufacturers of high-quality sports and leisure clothing and co-ordinated the functional underwear with waterproof functional textiles.
From 1992 to 1995, Thomas Essers was Thorlo's Managing Director responsible for Central Europe.
In 1995, Essers joined Falke and, as sales manager, shaped the Falke Ergonomic Sportsystem until 2002. A major milestone in his career was the left and right socks and the development of "seamless technology" in the field of functional textiles.
Since 2002, he has worked essentially on a self-employed basis with his company T.ESS.
In July 2009, he transferred the management of the company to his son Philipp Essers and focuses on the new development of products and yarns to create even more innovative textiles.
The latest innovation is a new type of flame-retardant seamless underwear made using the 3-D process with novel duo-component knitting technology as FIRESHELTER.
